HOW DO WE GET A HIGH QUALITY CAST OF YOUR BABY’S HANDS AND FEET ?

Have you ever had a mould taken of your teeth? Whether you answer yes or no, the reason for asking is that Precious Memories uses the same material as a dentist does to take a mould of your teeth. Knowing it is safe in your own mouth gives clients the reassurance that it will not harm their baby or toddler.

The material is mixed to room temperature and then your baby’s hand or foot is placed inside. Within a minute the material sets to create a rubber mould, which is very flexible, allowing the easy removal of the hand or foot to be very easy.

Once the casts have been taken, Precious Memories uses a dental plaster to create a plaster cast of the hand or foot. Once we have taken care to define every crease, we then allow the casts to set before sealing them. At this stage a silicone mould is taken of other copies are required or a further material is used. The piece in then finished and prepared for framing.

Our cold cast bronze and aluminium resin, marble and slate casts are all done in-house at our various 3D studios. Lead Crystal Glass and Hallmarked Sterling Silver casts require wax copies which are then sent off to our foundry to be created into stunning pieces of artwork.

Finally, all our Sterling Silver is sent off to the Birmingham Assay Office to hallmarked.
